What Causes Sudden Weight Gain After Taking Zoloft Tablets?
iI have been on one half mg zoloft for 2 mo. Like the way Im feeling,but the biggest problem is Now I m hiding cause I have gained 30 pounds. I guess I feel worse, now. I don t want to go anywhere. I called my Dr who perscribes the meds, but she s out of town. Dr. seems to be in question about which meds to give me. we thought 1/2 of zoloft would not put wt on me,but it has. Is there another pill like zolot that will not put wt on you? I have ADD/learning difficulty. Seems like zoloft helps my brain to think smarter. thank you Lydia

Weight gain can occur with some medications. They can cause changes in one or more: (1) increase in appetite (2) decrease in physical activity (3) change in metabolism (4) decreased fullness
To decrease the chance of weight gain, you would need to monitor your diet and activity.
This means trying not to use foods that may cause weight gain and also trying, if possible, to be active for at least 150 mins a week.
Fluoxetine is an anti depressant that is associated with weight loss is some persons so your doctor may want to see if this works for you.
