What Causes Sudden Weight Gain And Acne While Having A Thyroid Condition?
Hello, I am trying to determine if my issue is a OBGYN consult or an internal medicine consult. My symptoms are a dramatic weight gain (no change to diet, exercise moderately and take stairs at work), body acne (both front and back, but not face) and very light menstrual cycle continuously. I recently started a new job and thought the symptoms were related to the stress of that, however I have a multi nodular thyroid that I had ultra sounds and biopsy s done three years ago and now since the symptoms are continuing past a month, I am wondering if they are related to that or something else. All I know is something is not right and I need to consult either my OBGYN or an Internal medicine specialist. I am a female and 40 years old. Can you advise me of whom to contact regarding my symptoms?
Hi dear user You have symptoms that can be due to hypothyroidism like weight gain and body acne.So i suggest to do the thyroid test to see actual the thyroid function. So you need to consult an internal medicine specialist. Wish you good heath. Dr Elona
