Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Ivo Ditah's Response
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this rapid weight gain. The most common cause of rapid weight gain is fluid retention. With you reporting urination difficulties, I will suggest that you get evaluated by your doctors to see what the origin of this problem is. Acute fluid retention may be caused by a problem of the liver, heart, or kidneys in a majority of the cases.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
