What Causes Suicidal Thoughts While On Midodrine?

hi, i have been taking Midodrine 5mg for almost a year, i have had one attempt at taking my own life a few months ago but luckily i was prevented from doing so by the police, ever since that day the thought of of taking my own life is a daily occurrence, where as on my first attempt there was no planning involved, but now i seem to have a different plan everyday, could this be down to Midodrine?

Midodrine as such does not specifically cause suicidal ideation but abnormal thinking behavior can occur during long term treatment with midodrine. You have not written why you are taking midodrine since a long time. Is suicidal ideation is the only symptom?? What are the other symptoms?? Are you taking any other medicine?? You can write here later on. You might be struggling with depression. Extreme depression leads to suicidal ideation and attempt. You should immediately contact a psychiatrist so that he/she diagnose the condition by proper history and examination. Besides this, there are life style changes which can help you in dealing with stressful situation.
Advice
1.     Immediately go to hospital if you get any idea of committing suicide
2.     Start workout in gym at least half an hour in a day for 5 days in a week
3.     Do meditation
4.     Share your problem with your family and close friends
5.     Do not live alone
