Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a 4 year old with two soft, sunken spots each about the size of a quarter, on the top of his head, nearing the back. He is going to see neurosurgery for a consult but I didn t know if there was any insight to what this could be in the mean time?
Hi... by what you say I feel that this could be open posterior fontanelle. This occurs in vitamin D deficiency and some other skeletal congenital anomalies. Please consult a General pediatrician and work up before going to a neurosurgical consult.
