What Causes Sweating Of Palms?

Hi Drs, I need a suggestion from a pediatrician. My 6 month old has sweat palms. This was observed since two weeks. We thought it was just the saliva that occured as a result of she puting her fingers in mouth. Today we found sweat in under foot also. Please suggest on this. Vadivel, from Bangalore.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

If there is no fever, she is feeding well and gaining weight as expected, we need not worry much. Sweating can happen when environmental temperature goes up, and this will be more pronounced over palms, soles , neck and axilla as these rears are rich in sweat glands. Just be sure that her thyroid function is normal, which we routinely do after birth for all babies.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
