What Causes Sweating On Forehead?

I'm a 77 year old male. For 8 days now I have been sweating on my forehead, back of neck for no reason at all. The sweating can happen at any time during the day or night. I'm not doing anything unusual nor am I eating anything unusual while this happens. I also get woken up at night with sweats. The sweating is not constant. So far I have been sweating about 10 times in a 24 hour period and each episode may last anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes.
My doctor took blood test, chest xrays, EKG, urine sample, and a culture test, all tests did not indicate any problems. I had my PCP and the emergency room doctor check me out, both doctors said that there is nothing wrong with me. I also get a bitter taste in my mouth along with the sweating. I'm nervous, doctors don't have given up on me, they said that they don't know what else to do. PLEASE HELP!

Hello,Welcome to the HCM
Brief..It could be autonomic nervous system problem
Detailed..As Human body is controlled by Nervous system, but there is other part of nervous system which actualy acts automatically, divided into sympthetic and parasympthetic sytem.Sympthetic system is stimulated when some one is frightened, excited, in anxiety and stress and nervoused, and causes increasing heart rate, releasing sugar from liver and prepares body to fight off or retreat from danger and also increase sweating.
Parasympthetic activates tranquil functions like stimulating secretion of salivaor digestive system and so on.
So it depends all what you think and feel body responses on that. Now you have to rule out that wether you are in stress or anxiety or some changes in your thougt which may cause all your symptoms. As you have been going through many investigations ,all in vain ,my opinion would be have some change ,get yourself busy, avoid stress and anxiety also going for visiting new place could help.
I would like to here from you again.
