What Causes Swelling And Darkening Of Lips?

Hey.My lips have suddenly started swelling and turning black. after a few hours the swelling went down but it is still black. what do you think could have caused it? i were kissing my spouse when i suddenly felt it slowing swelling but i dont think it is him because this has never happen the other times. i did drink out of an unfamiliar cup that was washed with an unknown dish washing liquid few minutes before though. could it be an allergic reaction to that?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having angioedema.
My treatment advice is -
1. Avoid fast food and food with artificial colors for 2 months.
2. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
3. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
