What Causes Swelling And Itching In The Bottom Of The Left Hand?
Hi doctor, My soon to be 77 yr old brother in law woke up in the middle of the night with a swollen left back hand & was itching & warm to touch. Back of right hand is normal. I took his blood pressure now...183/100. He is on buspar, lorazapam, tamoxifen, amotrolopine (sp?). What could it be?

the most probable cause is an allergic reaction to a bite of insect.
pls give him anti-allergics like levocetrizine, and if it pains give him a pain killer like ibuprofen.
if he develops severe allergic reaction, take him to ER as he would need an adrenaline injection.
