What Causes Swelling And Redness In Leg?
I have had primary lymphedema in my left leg for the last 55 years. I am now 65 and am having unusual swelling and redness in my leg. I was hospitalized 20 years ago because of an infection in my leg that resulted in me battling a 104 degree fever for 10 days. Why is my leg so prone to infection?

Hi.
As per your case history you are having cellulitis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for 5-7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
