What Causes Swelling And Soreness In The Vagina?

The inside of my vagina feels very sore and is swollen. It also feels very dry and my period is late. I took two pregnancy tests and both were negative. I am married and monogamous. It is a little itchy ouside as well, but no discharge and no odor. What could this be?
