What Causes Swelling And Soreness In Throat Inspite Of Taking Medications?
I ve had strep throat recently and taken two rounds of antibiotics. My tonsils and glands (salivary?) are still swollen and my throat is still somewhat sore. My swallowing feels labored but I am still able to eat and drink. The sore throat was present for awhile before I finally got treatment. I had confused the symptoms with acid reflux. Now I still have a sore throat, I get sweats, and my joints and muscles are sore. I have a cough, too. Note: I do not have a fever. I tried going to a clinic and they said there is no way I could still have strep after two rounds of antibiotics. They refused to test me for it. Do I still have strep and how is that possible? Should I be concerned about endocarditis or ARF? What is my next step? I do not have a primary physician yet (the county is backed up for two months).
