What Causes Swelling And Tenderness In Neck?

Hey im 17 and for the last 9 months the right side of my neck my Lymph Node has been swollen and the doctor said I had a infection. My doctor gave me medicine not sure what its called but her said it would go away with in 10 days to a week. The swelling recently moved down to the lower part of my neck by my thyroid. Its really swollen and tender. Like I pulled a muscle. Its enlarged like the size of a golf ball. Do you have any idea what it could be and if so what I should I do?

hi,
you should be concerned more about your symptoms, this could be infection spreading to your thyroid, and that can be troublesome. I recommend you to consult a ENT surgeon in this regard.
