Hello, Thank you for writing HCM.

Swelling of ear can be treated by cleaning the affected region and medication. Whereas there is a 80% chance of recurrence, if ear-care is not taken properly. Apart from medication, precautions are to be taken.

1. Do not allow water to enter you ears (while bathing/ face wash/ AC/ rain)
2. Use a cotton ball/ ear plug to prevent dust/while travelling.
3. Consult a physician/ ENT asap if there is nose running/cold.
4. Avoid cool water/soft drinks.

All the best.
