What Causes Swelling In Feet, Itchy And Bumpy Chest After Taking Medifast?
I have been on Medifast for 2 months. My hair texture has changed, my left foot is swollen and chest and back are itchy and bumpy, also turning 50. I have lost 15lbs so my BMI is 21.1 a healthy weight. I also may have psorisis, which I had once diagnosed 10 yrs ago for a small spot on my shin, have not had it since. Upper forehead area gets dry patches, then I wet my head and it easily peels off. A few hours later it s itchy and I have to scratch & pick it off, endless cycle, so hair Feeling shaky & nervous for no reason. Could this be hypertension or thyroid causing skin issues & swelling?
Medifast just doesn't do all that much. cannot say in your particular case, but generally, other issues would be more likely: changes in diet and weight gain or loss or decreases in the amount of protein in the body are likely to cause some changes in the skin. Furthermore, if the vitamin levels (vitamin D, several others; also IRON levels) are not maintained during weight loss, hair skin and nails WILL be affected. This is quite common.
It could be thyroid; this isn't common.
