What Causes Swelling In Testicles After Inguinal Hernia Surgery?
My husband had inguinal hernia surgery in February. Immediately After the surgery his right testical swelled up and became hard like a cricket ball. This condition is not correcting itself and, in fact, the swelling has become larger. It is impacting on his ability to ejaculate. This surely can t be normal? Please can you advise?
Hi. Thanks for your query and an elucidate history. Getting a right testicle swelling is a rare complication of hernia surgery and the most probable causes can be : -Vascular compromise -Infection -Hydrocele formation.
You have to get the confirmed diagnosis by: Ultrasonography and color doppler examination as the further treatment will depend upon the findings of it. This should have no problem in ejaculation unless there is prostatitis or so. Also get an ultrasonography of the abdomen for genitourinary symptoms. Get opinion of the operating Surgeon and a second opinion of an Urologist.
