Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Swelling In The Ankles And Legs Along With Inflammation?
I have just started getting my back adjusted by a corrective chiropractor. now my feet started swelling my ankles, and legs. it s like the toxins are leased into my bloodstream again but can t get out. and I m miserable. my feet are inflamed. this is my 2nd week going.
First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, it isn't because of toxins etc but you need to have worked up for causes of tissue oedema including liver and kidney functions as well as heart echocardiogram. Urinalysis to rule out protien loss should also be done.
Doppler ultrasound of lower limbs may also be needed to see any signs of blood flow obstruction. Diuretics may also be needed to decrease the swelling.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
