What Causes Swelling In The Ankles And Pain In The Upper Rib-cage?
I was diagnosed with auto immune hepatitis a year ago am currently on prednisone 10mg and Azathioprine 50mg the last two weeks my ankles swell for no reason and I wake up with an ace in the upper area of my rib cage with some nauseating only last about a hour I hydrate well, active, exercise and golf couple times a week I am 71 ( so what that s just a number) would appreciate an opinion
It is possible that you could have low albumin levels(a protein in the blood). This could be the reason for your ankle swelling. I suggest you get a Liver function test done soon. Pain in your abdomen and nausea is common in hepatitis, but if it is severe or worsening please visit your doctor.
