Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having swelling of my feet and ankles. Of course living in Texas when the weather is so hot could be a cause, but I am also suffering from two other diseases - cirrhosis of the liver and glioblastoma of the brain. I walk as much as I can during the daytime hours and drink two 16.9 oz bottles of water a day. I just want to know how to treat this at home because I don t think this has anything to do with my other conditions, and I see the Neurologist tomorrow. Please jump right in and let me know what you think.
Hello, Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you are having swelling of feet and ankles. It may be related to your cirrhosis of liver because due to this there can be hypoproteinemia(less protein in blood), which can cause swelling of feet and ankles. You can treat it to some extend by keeping foot and ankles elevated over pillow during night. You should also heat and kindney related causes which also causes these swelling. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
