What Causes Swelling In The Glands Of The Neck?

I have very sore swollen glands on my neck, behind my left ear, by my jaw bone and skull. There's also the start of one on the nape of my neck it seems, near the hairline. My throat does not hurt whatsoever. I have had a little bit of a cough over the past few days, but my neck hurts worse than anything and the cough seemed to dissipate.

I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

You may have some enlarged lymphnode. Most of the time it is due to reactive hyperplasia secondary to some infection. But it can be due to tuberculosis or lymphoma. Take antibiotics treatment. If it doesn't respond to treatment then biopsy diagnosis is advisable.
