What Causes Swelling In The Knee After EECP Treatments?

I had two EECP treatments...one for 20 minutes and one for 30 minutes. I was uncomfortable and chose not to continue. I had decided on my own to try them; they were not recommended by my physician but he agreed. I have micro vessel heart disease. I am a 65 year old woman. About 5 days after stopping treatment I developed a noticable swelling on the right side of my knee. This swelling is accompanied by much pain. Why and what can I hope to do for this stituation. susan daley

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Usually for implant removal cases, physiotherapy has to be started as soon as possible depending on pts tolerance. Two weeks is quiet a sufficient time.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rohan Shanker Tiwari, Orthopedic Surgeon
