What Causes Swelling In The Lower Abdominal Area?

I just went to the doctor for a physical and he found in my lower abdomen a large swollen area under my belly button area almost exactly underneath and equal on both sides approx 4 inches by 8 inches wide. My stomach has hurt like indigestion for a couple of years. All my blood work has always came back normal. They ordered a CT Scan. I have had no blood in my urine or stools. I have plenty of energy. What could this possibly be?
