What Causes Swelling In The Temple?

I had sinus pressure and a pain on one hole side of my head front and back..for over 12 weeks 2 antibiotics later and major pain meds it finally stopped . However my head feels weird like I am in an airplane my right nostril i can t breathe out of and my right ear feels plugged...I also had check swelling ...I went to the doctor and 3 dentist becAuse I had 2 root canals and a bridge put on 3 to 4 months ago...they said the teeth were fine...and to go to a neurologist .my doctor has ordered a ear nose thought and 2 cts...i am waiting for the apt. The new symptom is swelling on my right temple.

Hello,

Judging from your description it seems that the symptoms are probably in the setting of an upper airway infection (ear and sinus infections are included in this category). It is good that you are having a CT as it will both exclude brain lesions as well as show sinus and ear effusions. If such an infection is confirmed since antibiotics have failed then ENT consult will be necessary for other therapeutic options like antibiotic therapy based on culture specimens or surgery in some rare chronic cases.
