What Causes Swelling In The Throat And Pain At The Back?

I have been sick for five days now. I am 14 years old, and female. My throat is very swollen, this happens to myself quite often. Also, I am having back pains through out my back. Major head aches, and sweating lots! Aswell as pains when I bend or straighten my knees.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice

As per the history provided your throat is swollen and so your posterior pharynx examinations should be done first. You are lymph node should be palpated in the cervical area for congestion relief short term low dose steroids or antihistaminic drug can be prescribed. Your also titre and CBC should be done. If blood picture suggest your bacterial infection then antibiotic also need to be started. Salt water gargle done 3 times a day. Vitamin C tablet can be taken daily. Consult otorhinolaryngologist for examination.
