What Causes Swelling In Thigh After Removal Of Titanium Rod?
My 75 years old mother had a titanium rod inserted about 10 yrs ago after a femur break. Her right side is severely weakened from stroke at young age and severe osteoporosis. She then fell, broke a hip and had a hip replacement. They removed the titanium rod at the same time. Her thigh is now much shorter than the other, is extremely swollen, seems to have loose parts when you touch it - it s been over 8 years and when we see doctors they just say there s nothing they can do for her. She is too weak for surgery and has been wheelchair bound for 8 years now. It s difficult to get concrete answers
