What Causes Swelling In Thigh And Knee After A Stent Procedure?

Hi my husband had a stent put in his leg. The Doctor said he had 90% blockage. He had the procedure in June 2. Now today is July 28th . He has swelling in his leg for the past two weeks. He went to the Emergency room and they prescribe him antibiotics. But the pain and swelling is getting worse. He can barely stand on his leg. The swelling in his leg is from the thigh all the way down to his knee.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello

These symptoms could be due to vascular occlusion around your thigh.
Colour Doppler may help in diagnosis.
Another possibility of infection. you may need clinical examination to rule out this.

Further investigation like CT angiography will also help in your case.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
