What Causes Swelling Of Bilateral Limbs With Hot Flashes?

My Aunt has red swollen bi-lateral legs and arms that swell and ache with sharp pain even while sitting with elevated. They feel hot and she even uses ice bags to cool them. They split open and ooze a little blood and then clear fluid which is sticky after it dries on the skin. It is also on her arms and now is spreading to her back. She had had blood taken and "everything is normal". The MD put her on high doses of antibiotic 1000mg 4 times/day. It has not seemed to make a difference. What could this be and where can she get some help?
