What Causes Swelling Of Foot,ankle Turning Into Red And Blotchy,diarrhea?

Hi Dr Andrew Rynne, my Dad s left foot & ankle keep swelling & go red & blotchy. He also gets constipated easily & other times, diarrhoea. I don t get to speak to my folks as often as I would like to & not knowing what his symptoms could be, is worrying me sick. I m hoping you can give me some possibilities of what you think it may be. I am so sorry to hear about what your dad is going through. I will suggest that you provide an image to us for review as it would be helpful in establishing the cause of his feet swelling. This could be caused by venous insufficiency as well as other possible disease conditions. With a clear image of the condition , proper examination and maybe testing, It would not be possible to totally address this condition.
