What Causes Swelling Of Penis Shaft And Burning Sensation During Urinating?

I've recently been diagnosed with a left sided varicocele. I had an accident last week where the blood in my penis was forced backwards pretty hard while fully erect and I felt a sharp pain. I now notice that the bottom of my shaft when erect is swollen on the right side and that my dorsal vein that runs along the top of my penis does not fill like it used to. It seems to be almost deflated.

I've also noticed other symptoms like:

Burning during urination
Difficulty starting urination
Split urine path (double stream)

I'm thinking this can't all be because of the varicocele. Any opinions?
