What Causes Swelling Of Tongue And Indentations On Sides Of Throat?
I BELIEVE THAT I COULD HAVE MOUTH SHINGLES. MY TONGUE IS SWOLLEN WITH INDENTATIONS ON THE SIDE, MY THROAT IS SORE AND IT FEELS LIKE THERE ARE STICKERS OR PINS STICKING MY THROAT AND TONGUE. ALSO I KEEP BITING THE SIDE OF MY TONGUE BECAUSE IT IS SWOLLEN AND I HAVE DIFFICULTY SWOLLING, AND SOMETIMES CHOKE.
Shingles on the tongue are possible if you have had chicken pox before and the problem is on one side only. It can get very painful so a doctor's check up is needed along with specific medication like antivirals and steroids- ordinary painkillers would not help.
