What Causes Swelling On Calf After A Knee Injury?

Hello! My husband played baseball yesterday and slid into another guy at second base. His knee was swollen yesterday we iced it. He was on his feet all day today and when he got out of the shower we noticed that the swelling has moved down his calf and it is starting to turn black and blue. It this normal? Lisa

Hi ,Welcome to healthcare magic. This is absolutely normal. Haematoma tend to shift into dependent part due to effect of gravity. Later in due course it takes color changes and finally disappear.So it is absolutely normal.However it may take long time to completely disappear.
