What Causes Swelling On Feet?

My feet keep swelling. I put ice on them at night and keep them elevated. My left one throbs. Should I be concerned. I had a hip replacement in March. I sit at work a long period of time. I just went back to work 3 weeks ago. I am 61 5'2 and 194 pounds. Please help.
