What Causes Swelling On The Penis After A Surgery To Reverse An Ileostomy?

I had surgery to reverse an ileostomy on monday,and during surgery had a catheter placed. I had swelling of the penis on Thursday, and the catheter was removed. Yesterday and today, the swelling comes and goes, sometimes more severe than others. Should I go to the hospital? What could be going on?

Yes, you need to meet the surgeon again. It can be due to
- infection
- delayed healing
- foreign bodies.
