What Causes Swelling On The Right Side Of Throat After Having Mucinex?

Hi, I took Mucinex DM for 2 days one pill every 12 hrs. and my throat on the right side started to swell. I immediately took Benadryl and it went down in 1/2 hr. I have a cough and acid reflux with phlegm in my throat the Mucinex DM did stop the cough but I guess I can t take it. I tried clarinex and zantac but it didn t work. I did have an endocospy which cam up negative and also a chest xray and a sinus xray and they show nothing.

Hello. Welcome to hcm.
Mucinex is given to patients who have phelgm accumulation in sinus or chest which it works by dissolving it. It does not have side effect by causing your throat to swell on right side.
I think the best way to manage your problem is to stop all medications you are taking and consult your local doctor as looking at the swelling will help us to diagnose the problem
All the best
