What Causes Swelling,itching And Hardness Of The Left Big Toe?

My left big toe is incredibly swollen, to the point where it s rock hard. The entire toe is increasingly itchy, and red. Its sore at the joint, and the left side where the fattest part of the toe is. It all started with what I thought was a mosquito bite just underneath my nail bed, but now there are little bumps all along the bed, and at the side where it s sore, there seems to be a blister. It started about 2 weeks ago, faded for a couple of days, but became increasingly worse yesterday.

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you are having swollen your left bid toe and it is so swollen that it has blister formation. lt is most likely cellulitis . Do you also have fever? Second possibility is acute gout. Treatment of acute gout is analgesic such as ibuprofen.Treatment of cellulitis is analgesic and antibiotics. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.
