Hi Doctor, I'm an 18 year old female, and I have had swollen glands in the groin area for several years now (5 years now I think). They have never gone smaller in these 5 years. It started with 3 little swollen gland, which I had shown my mom. As she worried this could be a cyste or something, she brought me to her GP. He told there was nothing to worry about (I was an active athlete at that time, which could have caused the swollen glands). Now, 5 years later, the last two months I have been feeling the glands ache when walking, they are present. This week a turn of events has happened which makes me worry a bit: I get stabbing pains in the groin, when I lay down, when I'm asleep or sitting down. I try to move my legs but I just can't, my whole body gets cramped up. The stabbing pain is short, it does not even last a minute but it feels as if an electric shock hits me. Tell me, do I have to follow this up?
