Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the last two weeks or so, I ve had a chapped and peeling section about 1/2 long on my lower lip. Now the patch is no longer chapped, but is slightly swollen and red/purple. There is no itching or pain, and it doesn t look like any photos of cold sores or fever blisters I ve seen. What is it and how should I treat it? Thanks!
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query. The swollen and red/purple lower lip can be a mucocele or hematoma secondary to lip biting or trauma to the lip. Nothing to be panic, usually both the conditions are self limiting. Consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. If it is not subsiding in a week time, then consult a oral physician and get it ruled out. I hope my answer will help you, take care.
