Hallow Dear,
Since the
birth weight of the baby was more than 9 lbs., please get your blood sugar levels tested. Pre-diabetic, Gestational diabetic or diabetic mothers give birth to heavy weight babies. Whenever birth weight is 8 lb. or more, we suspect
diabetes and investigate the case. Diabetes can cause oedema of the feet. Any evidence of diabetes will need further investigations and anti-diabetic treatment.
If you are having
high blood pressure, it could be postpartum toxaemia causing swelling on the feet. Please get your blood pressure examined.
Also get your blood and urine tested.
Anaemia after delivery is very common if antenatal
haemoglobin was low or marginal or if there was bleeding during or after delivery. Anaemia will cause oedema on the feet. Considering the cramps you are having, the possibility of Diabetes or Anaemia is very high. Please start iron tablets daily. Even otherwise it will help you and the baby.
Urinary infections are known to cause feet swelling and face swelling, particularly in the morning.
Your urine and blood examination will indicate if either of these is present.
If you are feeling exhausted or breathless, you should get your heart function done.
Please report to your doctor for thorough investigations and treatment.
I hope this gives you initial guidelines.
