What Causes Swollen Feet/ankles/legs For A Diabetic Having Stage III Renal Disease?
I am diabetic. A few months ago , my dr said I was in stage three renal disease. Now swelling in my feet ankles, and legs seems to get worse every day. It is markedly worse today than yesterday. I also have finger swelling, and what I think may be ascites in my abdomen. I have a drs appt. tomorrow. What do you think?
So impaired GFR will cause decrease in the urine output and concentration. This causes fluid retention especially in the lower limbs, abdomen and around the eyes. Unfortunately the condition is irreversible, If you want to preserve what ever the function left. Usually we do advice loop diuretic and acetylcystiene for preservation of kidney function.
thanks
