What Causes Swollen Feet?

I would like to know what causes swelling in the feet. My foot started to be swollen, I think, 2 weeks ago. It was all swollen and under my toes was hard like wood. When I got home, I applied Savlon which reduced the swelling considerably. Now, the underneath of my toes is not swollen, but the skin on top of my foot is a little bit raised, swollen more like it. The thing is, I can still walk and it does not hurt. It s just odd. It never happened to me before, I find it a riddle. Could you give me some tips? Thanks.

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that your feet got swollen.The causes of foot swelling can be kidney and heart related causes .You should get your serum creatinine and blood urea checked to exclude kidney related causes while echocardiography of heart to exclude heart related causes. Other rare causes can be thyroid disease,liver disease, long distance traveling etc. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful.
