What Causes Swollen Knee And Feet With History Of Hip Surgery?
hi, my grandmother had hip surgery about a month ago and her legs below the knee and feet are extremely swollen, she has pain in her right leg which isn t the hip she had surgery on, now on top of her right foot and knee are signs that there could be a broken blood vessel. any suggestions
Hi After any hips surgery in elderly it is quite common to get swelling in lower limb because of inadequate movement of that limb which is called as venous stasis . The only danger is that it might lead to deep venous thrombosis which is diagnosed by colour Doppler and it need more aggressive treatment. So you should get Doppler done and if it is normal then nothing to worry and encourage her to do exercise of lower limb .I am sure swelling will go away slowly All the best
