What Causes Swollen Knot Around The Area Of A Heart Catheterisation?

I had a heart cath sunday 6-5-11 i have a swollen knot around the area and have on and off since wed. the nurse smashed it for 20 min. and it got smaller and hurt like a %#@*. It came back the day after I came home Thur. My wife smashed it per instructions if it reoccurred. Well it's larger now and even Much harder to the touch - it is about the size of 2/3 of my little finger. If it is growing it's very slow - tender to the rough touch. Have a clue on what to do or is it anything to worry about?
