My mom is a long time 80 year old diabetic. yesterday morning she woke up with some swelling in her leg that got bigger this morning. My sister took her to the ER. xray shows nothing. blood work shows no WBc. I am supposed to go out of town tomorrow morning for a 10 day trip. Is this possibly a life threatening condition?

Hi Thanks for posting for query. Leg swelling most of the time is not due to life threatening conditions unless she doesn't have breathing difficulty or low urine output . There are many conditions which cause swelling of legs . Most common are drug induced , low blood proteins, kidney damage, heart failure , improper blood supply to legs.
