What Causes Swollen Lower Lip With A Bump Below It?

Hi, my boyfriend woke up with a swollen lower lip on the left side of his bottom lip. He has a bump right below it and originally thought it was facial hair. He can t see an actual hair though... it is not sore but he can feel pressure when he presses on it and nothing comes out when he squeezes it. what do you think?

Hi...
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...

As per your complain the swollen lip with a bump below it seems to be due to hair follicle infection and as the Inflammation might have increased there is swelling of the area adjacent to it that is left portion of lower lip..
Nothing to worry you can apply a combination of a Steroid ointment and Triple Antibiotic Ointment over it after cleaning with betadine solution.
You can also take a short course of antibiotics like Augmentin and Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.
Do cold compresses over both areas..
It will resolve in 4 to 5 days and in case of no improvement consult a physician and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
