What Causes Swollen Stomach And Abdominal Pain?

i had the iud 5years ago and i put it on again on 05/11 for 5years again and i have not feeling well also i have not gone to my 4week check up since i had my period but is not normal i am scared if am pregnant have not test my self but my stomach i feel it very swollen and i get pains on my lower abdomain and legs what is it ?

Hi thanks for writing to hcm.
Firstly you need to check out if the tag of the IUD is present or has it gone missing. Since IUDs are known for causing pelvic inflammatory disorders, kindly visit a gynaecologist. A Ultrasonographic scan will help visualise if the IUD is in position or not.
If there is any infection you will be given antibiotics along with analgesics and antiinflammatory drugs to bring it under control.
