Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
About a week ago, I hit my toe on a hard surface, over the time my toe has began to swell and turn purple. I just clipped my nails and when I clipped my pinkie toenail blood came gushing out, suprisingly.. it doesn t hurt, but I m still curious about what s going on. HELP?

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist, Sonia Dhawan's Response
Hi,
Swelling and bruising could be because of injury which can be at superficial skin level, soft tissue lesion or bone fracture. Since it doesn't hurt much it is probably not the bone, clipping the nail and blood oozing might suggest a superficial level of injury which may or may not need any intervention. If there are no signs of infection and you don't have a history of diabetes. This should go away in some time.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Sonia Dhawan, Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist
