What Causes Swollen Tonsil Area, Sore Throat And Swollen Lymph Nodes?
7 days ago I tested negative for strep, but had swollen tonsil area, sore throat and swollen lymph nodes. I was given a steroid shot, an antibiotic shot and started a zpak. I m finished with the zpak and while I initially felt better, I feel worse and my symptoms persist.
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having swollen tonsils, sore throat with swollen lymph nodes. My response to your question is as follows.
These symptoms indicate infection of the throat with tonsillitis and upper respiratory tract infection. This requires treatment by the use of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. The swollen lymph nodes are secondary to infection and will resolve with treatment.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
