I am 40 yrs old 5'6 140lbs. I had c diff and finished treatment 3 weeks ago today. I went to the clinic yesterday with soare throat. I have tonsilitis and rapid strep test confirmed +. My doctor and I decided on the Z pack treatment as it does not harm the flora in the gut and I am very concerned about a relapse of c diff. Treatment was required as my nodes and tonsils are very swollen. I started treatment 24 hrs ago (3 doses of meds). My tonsils are now even more swollen and completely white. Swallowing is possible but painful. How long should I wait before seeking further treatment or follow up? Is this normal I was told I should be starting to feel better on treatment and wonder if this antibiotic will work?
