What Causes Swollen Tonsils With Thin Red Line?

My throat randomly started hurting (I get strep throat a lot 5-6 times a year so no big surprise) so I usually just take a flash light and a mirror to see if I have swollen tonsils and pus pockets but I not only have both of those I have a thin red line (probably an inch and a half long) going across my left one! It hurts a lot and this has never happened that I know of! I can t get medical attention till tomorrow & I was wondering what it is?

hi,
welcome to HCM,
very good observation..
the symptoms and findings you have explained suggest acute tonsillitis...follicular variety...the thin red line you are telling is probably anterior pillar that is normal anatomical structure..i suggest you to take tab amox with clavulunic acid and paracetamol...nothing to worry....
