What Causes Swollen Upper Gums And Right-sided Abdominal Cramps?

Doctor, For the last two days I am experiencing swollen and tender upper gums, occasional cramps in upper left thigh and right side of the abdomen. I am leaving on an extended vacation in less than 24 hours which is causing me to be nervous. Any ideas?
